Community Oriented Rural Leaders Pipeline Effort

This project is a continuation and refinement of the Primary Care Leadership Pipeline project.  The current phase is a multi-faceted project called Health Career Admission Planning Service (HCAPS).  Programs and services offered include health career convocations, mentoring program for primary care students, individualized assistance with admissions planning, and community health careers promotion events.  Three one-day convocations will be held each year.  A one-day shadowing experience will be provided to students on an individual basis.  The mentoring component will match a primary care health professions student with a convocation student.  Emphasis will be placed on matching students with rural, minority, first-generation college, and/or other underserved/disadvantaged background.
